Appointed to the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas in 2001, Justice Dougherty requested assignment to Family Court, where he worked to support at-risk youth. He was appointed Administrative Judge in 2005—the longest to serve in that role—and launched initiatives like the Cross-Over Program and Expungement Initiative to better serve vulnerable children.

In 2014, he became Administrative Judge of the Trial Division, managing Pennsylvania’s largest court system. Now on the state’s highest court, Justice Dougherty focuses on improving access to justice, juvenile reform, and behavioral health initiatives. He represents the Court in efforts such as the Statewide Dependency Court Improvement Program and the Autism and the Courts Initiative, continuing his dedication to families and fairness in the judicial system.

David Wecht

Candidate for Pennsylvania Supreme Court

Justice David Wecht has been a key defender of the Pennsylvania Constitution, upholding voters' rights, public education, environmental protections, and women's healthcare choices. In his tenure, he has played a pivotal role in preventing extreme partisan gerrymandering and defending consumer rights.

Before his appointment to the Supreme Court, Justice Wecht served on the Superior Court of Pennsylvania (2012-2016) and the Court of Common Pleas for Allegheny County (2003-2012), where he led reforms in family law. Earlier in his career, he was elected Register of Wills and Clerk of Orphans’ Court for Allegheny County, pioneering initiatives that included legal protections for victims’ estates.

A graduate of Yale Law School, Justice Wecht is a respected educator, having taught at universities in the U.S., Israel, and China. He continues to serve on several legal and community boards.

Abigail Spanberger

Candidate for Virginia Governor

Raised in Henrico County by parents who lived their values—an Army veteran turned law enforcement officer and a nurse who aged out of foster care—Abigail learned early the meaning of hard work and public service.

After graduating from Virginia public schools and the University of Virginia, Abigail earned her MBA and joined the CIA as a case officer, working undercover to defend national security and stop terrorism, nuclear proliferation, and organized crime.

She ran for Congress after her representative voted to repeal health care protections—and in 2018, flipped a longtime Republican seat, becoming the first woman to represent Virginia’s 7th District.

In Congress, Abigail was ranked Virginia’s most bipartisan member and the most effective on agriculture. She passed legislation to combat the opioid crisis, support veterans, and lower drug prices.

Now, this mom of three and public school parent is running for Governor to strengthen education, lower costs, protect freedoms, and deliver results for Virginia families.

Kacey Carnegie

Candidate for Virginia State Delegate

Karen "Kacey" Robins Carnegie was born and raised in Chesapeake’s Deep Creek area and has dedicated her life to her community. Kacey has been an active community leader, serving with the Deep Creek Ruritan Club and as a Girl Scout Leader. A member of both the Virginia State Bar and Chesapeake Bar Association, she regularly presents on estate planning, probate, and small business issues.

After graduating law school and working at another firm in Virginia, she founded Carnegie Law Group in 2012 to serve her hometown community. Kacey is now the Managing Member and lead attorney at Carnegie Law Group, where she specializes in adoptions, estate planning, probate, guardianships, small business formation, and probate litigation.

Lindsey Dougherty

Candidate for Virginia State Delegate

Lindsey Dougherty is a lifelong public servant and passionate community advocate running to represent Virginia’s 75th House District. With a background in public administration and nearly a decade of experience working in local government and higher education, Lindsey brings deep knowledge of how policy and funding decisions impact working families.

Originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, Lindsey holds a Master’s in Public Administration from North Carolina State University and currently serves as a Senior Research Administrator at Virginia Commonwealth University. She previously managed multimillion-dollar budgets for Chesterfield County and has worked extensively with nonprofits supporting children’s healthcare access, single mothers, and underserved youth in the juvenile justice system.

As a mom of two children with complex medical needs and the wife of a Navy veteran, Lindsey has lived the challenges so many Virginians face. She’s running to increase job opportunities, expand healthcare access, protect reproductive freedom, and ensure every voice in the 75th District is heard and represented in Richmond.

Gina Ortiz Jones

Candidate for San Antonio Mayor

Gina Ortiz Jones is a proud daughter of San Antonio and the American Dream. Raised on the city’s West Side by a single mother who immigrated from the Philippines and taught in public schools for over 40 years, Gina grew up with the help of subsidized housing, free lunch programs, and a belief in service. That belief led her to the Air Force, where she served as an intelligence officer in Iraq and later advised military operations in Latin America and Africa.

She went on to serve in the Executive Office of the President and became the 27th Under Secretary of the Air Force, overseeing a $173 billion budget to support the needs of Airmen, Guardians, and their families.

Now, Gina’s ready to bring that same strategic leadership home as Mayor of San Antonio — to ensure every family has the same chance she did to succeed, thrive, and give back.

Inspired by a passion for public service, Rebecca worked on political campaigns before returning to Eau Claire to establish her own small business, Red's Mercantile, and launch the Red Letter Grant nonprofit, which has provided crucial support to numerous women-owned businesses across ten counties in western Wisconsin.

While in office, she was part of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation and co-chaired the Entrepreneurship & Innovation committee, where she collaborated across party lines to create opportunities for Wisconsin residents. Rebecca Cooke continues to serve in office, championing economic development and entrepreneurship.

Tony Vargas

Candidate for US House of Representatives in Nebraska’s 2nd congressional district

Tony Vargas is a Nebraska State Senator representing Omaha’s 7th District. A former science teacher, Tony was the youngest-ever member of the Omaha School Board at 26 and later worked with Teach for America.

He has consistently fought for educational equity and stronger public services. Tony ran for Congress in Nebraska’s 2nd District in 2022, narrowly losing by 2.6% in a competitive race. He is poised to make a comeback, with his name included on the DCCC Red-to-Blue list.

His platform focuses on creating economic opportunities for working families, expanding access to quality healthcare, and protecting reproductive rights. By mobilizing the Democratic base, Tony is determined to secure a victory in this district.

Janelle Bynum

Candidate for US House of Representatives in Oregon’s 5th congressional district

In 2022, Democrats lost Oregon’s 5th Congressional District — the first time since 1994. Governor Tina Kotek wholeheartedly endorsed Janelle Bynum for this critical district immediately after Janelle's announcement to run.

With victories over the Republican incumbent twice in State House races, she has proven herself as a formidable contender. If elected, she will make history as Oregon's first African American Congressperson.

Kotek’s endorsement sparked the support of other key figures such as Suzanne Bonamici (OR-1), Andrea Salinas (OR-6), and Earl Blumenauer (OR-3). Their unified backing underscores their confidence in Janelle Bynum as the ideal candidate to transition OR-5 from Red to Blue.

Bynum has the potential to succeed. However, national Republicans are gearing up to launch multi-million-dollar attack ads against her. To counter this, we rely on your support to fuel our voter contact teams, proven to drive Democratic turnout in pivotal districts.

Christina Bohannan

Candidate for US House of Representatives in Iowa’s 5th congressional district

During Christina’s 2022 campaign, she faced an uphill battle against Republican outside groups outspending her 27 to 1, but GOTV was there, working closely to support her efforts. Among the 28 Congressional campaigns GOTV supported in 2022, Christina's stood out as one of the best organized and easiest to collaborate with.

Christina's journey embodies resilience and determination. As the first member of her family to graduate from college, she began her career as an environmental engineer in a heavily polluted area. Driven by a desire to effect broader change, she pursued a law degree and eventually became a Constitutional law professor at the University of Iowa.

In 2024, she has consistently outpaced her Republican opponent in fundraising this cycle. Meanwhile, her opponent's low approval rating and support for a national abortion ban without exceptions underscore Christina's critical candidacy. Recent polls show her leading by 4 points in this R+4 district. As a result, Christina has been included in the DCCC’s initial Red-to-Blue list for the 2024 election.

Kristen McDonald Rivet

Candidate for US House of Representatives in Michigan’s 8th congressional district

Kristen McDonald Rivet is an advocate for Michigan’s families and workers. Raised in a hardworking, Catholic household, Kristen understands the challenges facing working-class communities. As the first in her family to attend college, she’s dedicated her career to improving opportunities for others.

Kristen served as Executive Director of Michigan Head Start, Chief of Staff for Michigan’s Department of Education, and Vice President of the Skillman Foundation. In these roles, she fought for affordable childcare, better educational outcomes, and policies promoting equity.

Elected to the Michigan State Senate, she became the first Democrat in over a decade to represent the Great Lakes Bay Region. Kristen passed Michigan’s largest tax cut for working families and has been a staunch advocate for abortion rights and gun violence prevention. In Congress, Kristen’s priorities include tackling rising inflation, creating high-wage jobs, and defending essential freedoms.

Sean Casten

Candidate for US House of Representatives in Illinois’ 6th congressional district

Sean Casten is a dedicated advocate for a sustainable future. Since assuming office, Sean has championed legislation to combat inflation, create jobs, uphold women’s rights, safeguard seniors, and promote clean energy.

Before Congress, Sean co-founded Recycled Energy Development to reduce carbon emissions and generate local jobs. He also led the Turbosteam Corporation advancing energy efficiency in industrial sectors across the Americas and Asia, creating high-paying jobs in manufacturing and engineering. In legislative efforts, Sean has secured significant funding and introduced critical bills to enhance energy infrastructure, address climate change, and support economic recovery.

Sean remains steadfast in his commitment to Illinois’ 6th District, advocating for policies that promote equity, economic growth, and environmental sustainability. Your support will enable him to continue his impactful work in Congress, creating opportunities and advancing the interests of working families across the district.

Eugene Vindman

Candidate for US House of Representatives in Virginia’s 7th congressional district

After serving in the army for more than two decades, Eugene and his brother were fired by President Trump from their jobs at the NSC for blowing the whistle on Trump’s attempt to extort the Ukrainian President.

Without Eugene’s bravery and sacrifice, we would never have learned about the crimes that led to Trump's first impeachment. Now, he is running for the open Congressional seat in Virginia’s 7th district. This is an expensive, competitive seat, and Eugene has personally asked GOTV to help his campaign.

Eugene has already demonstrated that he is willing to do everything necessary to safeguard our democracy despite the personal cost.

Don Davis

Candidate for US House of Representatives in North Carolina’s 1st congressional district

Don Davis has dedicated his life to public service, driven by a deep sense of duty to his country and community. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a longtime advocate for North Carolina’s working families, Don represents the 1st District in Congress.

Raised in a rural town, Don understands the challenges facing everyday North Carolinians. After his military service, Don returned home, becoming a mayor and state senator. Known for his bipartisan leadership, he’s delivered results on healthcare access, education, and economic opportunities.

In Congress, Don focuses on expanding healthcare access, investing in rural infrastructure, supporting veterans, and promoting economic growth. His hands-on approach and dedication to his constituents have earned him a reputation as a tireless advocate who works to lift up all North Carolinians, from farmers to small business owners, ensuring their voices are heard in Washington.

Chrissy Houlahan

Candidate for US House of Representatives in Pennsylvania’s 6th congressional district

Chrissy Houlahan’s story begins with her dedication to serving her community. The daughter of a Holocaust survivor and Navy officer, Chrissy grew up with a deep understanding of both the fragility and promise of democracy. She earned an engineering degree from Stanford on an ROTC scholarship, then served as a captain in the Air Force.

But her path didn’t stop with a uniform. Chrissy helped build AND1 from a startup into a global brand, then turned to mission-driven work, helping launch B Lab, teaching high school chemistry in North Philly, and leading a literacy nonprofit.

Along the way, she raised two daughters with her husband, Bart, in Chester County. In 2018, Chrissy became the first woman — and the first Democrat since the Civil War — elected to represent PA-06. Today, she brings her full life experience to Congress, working to strengthen national security, public education, and economic opportunity for all.

Jared Golden

Candidate for US House of Representatives in Maine’s 2nd congressional district

Jared Golden represents Maine’s Second District in Congress, serving on the Armed Services and Small Business Committees and co-chairing the Blue Dog Coalition.

Raised in Leeds, Maine, Jared worked in his family’s small business before enrolling in college. After 9/11, he left school to enlist in the Marines, serving combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. Back home, Jared juggled multiple jobs while completing his education through the G.I. Bill. He later returned to Afghanistan as a civilian, helping build schools for Afghan children, and went on to serve as a policy advisor in the U.S. Senate.

Before Congress, Jared represented Lewiston in the Maine Legislature. His working-class roots, military service, and deep ties to Maine guide his advocacy for veterans, small businesses, and rural communities. He lives in Lewiston with his wife, Isobel, and their two daughters, working every day to deliver practical solutions that improve life for Mainers.

Val Hoyle

Candidate for US House of Representatives in Oregon’s 4th congressional district

Val Hoyle is a lifelong champion for Oregon’s working families and small businesses. Her union family roots and experience as a minimum-wage worker shaped her values early.

Val spent 25 years in the private sector in the outdoor industry before entering public service. She served in the Oregon Legislature, eventually becoming Majority Leader, where she led on raising the minimum wage, expanding paid sick leave, and passing environmental and gun safety reforms.

As Oregon’s Labor Commissioner, she protected workers’ rights, expanded apprenticeship programs, and secured a threefold increase in discrimination settlements. During the pandemic, she fought to expand family leave protections and supported workers earning part-time income alongside unemployment.

Now representing Oregon’s 4th District in Congress, Val brings decades of experience, a fighter’s spirit, and a deep commitment to economic justice.

Marie Perez

Candidate for US House of Representatives in Washington’s 3rd congressional district

Marie Gluesenkamp Perez is a fifth-generation Washingtonian, small business owner, and mother representing Washington’s 3rd District.

Marie Gluesenkamp Perez never set out to run for office; she was too busy running an auto repair shop with her husband Dean and raising their young son in rural Washington. But when working families like hers were being left out of the conversation in D.C., she decided to step up.

Marie’s roots are deep in the Pacific Northwest. Her great-great-grandfather helped build the state Capitol, and her family has called Washington home for generations. After building a small business from the ground up, she understood firsthand the crushing weight of rising costs and broken systems. So she ran — and won — on a platform of economic dignity, rural opportunity, and practical leadership. In Congress, Marie brings the voice of her neighbors to the table, fighting for affordable childcare, fair wages, and a future where people who work hard can thrive.

Andrea Salinas

Candidate for US House of Representatives in Oregon’s 6th congressional district

Andrea Salinas knows how much can change in one generation because she saw it growing up. Her father came to the U.S. as a child, picking crops in California fields before joining the military and serving two tours in Vietnam. That service earned him citizenship and a union job, which opened the door to the middle class for Andrea’s family.

Andrea worked her way through college and eventually found herself drawn to advocacy. She fought for healthcare access, reproductive freedom, and policies that help working families.

When her daughter Amelia was born, Andrea’s drive to shape a better future became even more personal. She took that passion to the statehouse and then to Congress, where she now represents Oregon’s 6th District. Her mission is clear: keep the American Dream alive by breaking down barriers, holding corporations accountable, and making sure every family has the chance to rise.

Darren Soto

Candidate for US House of Representatives in Florida’s 9th congressional district

A proud Puerto Rican American, Darren Soto became an attorney to fight for people, then ran for office to do even more. In the Florida Legislature, Darren worked across party lines to protect the environment, expand healthcare, and bring good jobs to the region.

Since 2016, Darren has served in Congress, securing federal investments for roads, rail, disaster relief, small businesses, and clean water. He passed key legislation on hurricane preparedness, offshore drilling bans, and civil rights protections. He also helped shape major recovery efforts like the CARES Act and American Rescue Plan.

As Florida’s first Puerto Rican member of Congress, Darren brings both pride and purpose to the job. He’s never forgotten where he comes from — and he’s never stopped fighting for the working families of Central Florida.

Tom Suozzi

Candidate for US House of Representatives in New York’s 3rd congressional district

Tom Suozzi grew up in Glen Cove, the son of a nurse and a judge, and grandson of an electrician who wired the Empire State Building. That legacy shaped his calling: solving problems and serving others. At 30, he became mayor and led a dramatic turnaround of his hometown. As Nassau County Executive, he rescued the county from near financial collapse, earning national recognition.

In Congress, Tom built a reputation as a bipartisan problem-solver — cutting taxes, securing funding for the environment, lowering drug costs, and championing infrastructure investments. He co-founded the Problem Solvers Caucus because he believes working across the aisle is the only way to get things done.

After stepping away, Tom returned to Congress in 2024 to fight for affordability, clean government, and the American Dream. For Tom, this work is deeply personal — rooted in community, driven by purpose, and focused on delivering results that matter.

Adam Gray

Candidate for US House of Representatives in California’s 3rd congressional district

Adam Gray was raised in Merced, working in his family’s dairy supply shop, learning firsthand the values of hard work and community. When the Great Recession devastated the Valley, Adam stepped up and won a seat in the State Assembly in 2012 to bring practical, bipartisan solutions to real problems.

He founded the California Problem Solvers Caucus and led fights to stop the state’s water grab, invest billions in water infrastructure, and launch a Valley-based medical school to ease the doctor shortage. He secured funding to extend the ACE train, combat gang violence, and protect rural clinics and small businesses.

Adam teaches at UC Merced and still runs a small business, always keeping him rooted in the district he serves. In Congress, Adam is focused on what matters most to the Valley: clean water, good jobs, affordable healthcare, and solutions over partisanship.

Our US Senate Endorsements

Meet our endorsed candidates running in the nation’s most critical races for US Senate.

Angie Craig

Candidate for US Senate from Minnesota

Angie Craig is a trailblazer who has spent her career fighting for the values and well-being of Minnesota’s working families. As the first openly LGBTQ+ Congresswoman from Minnesota, Angie has broken barriers and led with authenticity and determination, always keeping the interests of her constituents at heart.

Growing up in a mobile home park, Angie knows firsthand what it’s like to face economic uncertainty. Her rise from modest beginnings to a successful career in healthcare leadership shaped her understanding of the struggles many Minnesotans face. That personal experience drives her work in Congress.

Since being elected to represent Minnesota’s 2nd District, Angie has been a relentless advocate for farmers, small businesses, and working families. She has championed bipartisan legislation to strengthen rural economies, improve infrastructure, and lower prescription drug costs. Her common-sense approach to solving problems has earned her respect on both sides of the aisle.

Wiley Nickel

Candidate for US Senate from North Carolina

After losing his father—an independent farmer—to lung cancer while still in high school, Wiley saw how a health care crisis could upend a family’s life. That experience instilled in him a deep sense of responsibility and a belief in the power of government to help people when they need it most.

Wiley was elected to the North Carolina State Senate in 2018, where he made protecting abortion rights and safeguarding voting access top priorities. Just four years later, he flipped his old congressional seat, defeating a Trump-backed opponent and becoming one of only six Democrats in the country to flip a red seat that cycle.

In Congress, Wiley focused on real solutions over partisan politics—fighting inflation, defending Social Security and Medicare, and working across the aisle to reduce costs for North Carolina families. His independence and results-driven approach made him a target: when Republicans couldn’t beat him at the ballot box, they gerrymandered him out of his district.

Now, Wiley is taking that fight statewide.
